  Important Information on Zovirax  

    Take this medication for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated.

     

    Treatment with Zovirax should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (such as tingling, burning, blisters).

     

    Herpes infections are contagious and you can infect other people, even while you are being treated with Zovirax. Avoid letting infected areas come into contact with other people. Avoid touching an infected area and then touching your eyes. Wash your hands frequently with antibacterial soap to prevent passing the infection to others.

     
  How Should I Take Zovirax?  

    Use Zovirax Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

     

    Wash and completely dry your hands and the affected area. Apply the medicine only to the affected area and not to the surrounding skin. Gently rub the medicine in until it disappears.

     

    Wash your hands after using Zovirax Cream. Do not bandage or wrap the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.

    Do not bathe, shower, or swim right after using Zovirax Cream.

     

    To clear up your infection completely, use Zovirax Cream for the full course of treatment. Keep using it even if you feel better in a few days.

    For best results, use Zovirax Cream at the first sign of a cold sore (tingling, redness, itching, or bump).

     

     

     

     
  Before Using Zovirax  

    Some medical conditions may interact with Zovirax Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
